Policy Analyst

Description

The candidate will provide support to the E-Government and Standards program by supporting the development of IT policy documents and reports and assisting in the day-to-day activities of the E-Government Program.  The candidate will research and analyze federal regulations, statutes, and other topical areas, provide analysis to support the drafting of IT policy and guidance in the areas of Enterprise Architecture, Capital Planning and Investment Control, and Records Management.   The candidate will oversee the agencies internal scoring process, promote communications and training for E-Government, respond to OMB quarterly responses, Integrate Portfolio Management with E-Government, Integrate Enterprise Architecture with E-Government support, and provide additional support where needed.  The candidate will plan and execute special events, meetings, and workshops when applicable. In addition the candidate will manage tasks independently from start to finish, conduct client interface regarding the status of tasks, and work with the client to identify solutions.   

- Ability to write clearly and concisely in a number of different styles and present ideas and data graphically and through narrative

- Provides documentation in presentation-ready quality output using advanced word processing or desk top publishing software

- Assist in gathering data and responding to OMB quarterly responses and PMA scorecard requirements

- Track day-to-day eGov activities

- Support the development and analysis of eGov reports.

- Knowledge of the President’s Management Agenda  IT strategy and design disciplines, including IT portfolio management, IT investment management, and IT project management

- Knowledge of federal government policies and procedures and major Federal Information Technology laws

Experience/Education

  • - Experience in a federal government or DoD environment preferred
  • - 2+ years of experience with working with government client
  • - Excellent written and oral skills a must
  • - Excellent editing and analytical skills a must
  • - Ability to multi-tasks - Ability to work in a team environment
  • - Ability to work on a project with minimal supervision
  • - Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • - Ability to travel locally (within the DC metro area) as needed
  • -Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a demanding work environment

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree
  • -2+ years of experience as a policy analyst
