Information Security Specialist

Germantown, MD

Responsibilities

Candidate’s primary responsibility will be the completion of the Certification & Accreditation of the department’s Public Key Infrastructure systems. These systems include the Certification Authorities, Public Key Infrastructure Directories, Support Systems, Two-factor Authentication Systems, and all Development Systems. The candidate must:
  • Have 3-5 years experience in the Information Security field
  • have an active security clearance or be eligible for one
  • be a U.S. citizen
  • have a Bachelor’s or applicable training certificates from accredited institutions
The position requires detailed knowledge and understanding of C&A and ST&E-related NIST, OMB and FIPS directives/documents. The candidate must be comfortable taking a cradle-to-grave approach with the C&A (i.e. starting with little to no information and taking the C&A to completion), and be proficient writing technical documents (Risk Assessments, Security Plans, Contingency Plans, Configuration Management Plans, POA&M, MOA, etc.). Familiarity with current C&A-related software packages that are used for tracking and reporting is desired.
