William Teel honored at University's Awards Ceremony

Washington, DC. (March 31, 2016) – 1Source is pleased to announce that Bowie State University Department of Military Science’s Army ROTC has inducted William R. Teel Jr., CEO and President of 1Source, to the Army ROTC’s Hall of Fame.  The “100 Awards” Ceremony honored the leaders who have emerged from Bowie State University’s Army ROTC program.

A native of Anacostia in Southeast Washington, D.C., Teel was the first in his family to graduate from college.  Despite challenging beginnings, Teel went on to earn a ROTC commission to Second Lieutenant from the U.S. Army in May 1987 as a Military Police Officer, and later two Masters degrees, including an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and a Masters in Information Technology from Bowie State University. 

Teel attributes his successes to the BSU ROTC Program saying, “I am honored and humbled to be recognized by the university. The tools, training, and experience I gained at Bowie State through their ROTC program taught me many valuable skills that I continue to use every day both personally and professionally.” Teel continues to support the BSU ROTC program by donating and financing the Bowie State University ROTC Military Ball.  

1Source Acquires New Space in the Nation’s Capital to Accommodate Growth and Expansion

1Source announces relocation of corporate headquarters

Washington, DC (April 1, 2016) – With goals of expanding, 1Source is proud to announce the company’s headquarters is now in Washington, DC. The newly renovated office space is located in the heart of the Nation’s Capital at 1250 H Street, NW. Construction has been ongoing for the 4,200 square-foot space since January, and as of this week the company has officially moved to the new location.

Coincidently, 1Source was in the same exact building in the early 2000s.  The company at the time had created a small business joint venture called Energy Enterprise Solutions, LLC (EES).  EES was awarded a $1 billion IT support contract with the Department of Energy in 2005 – one of the largest Federal IT service contracts ever awarded to a small business – and was required to develop a presence in Germantown, Maryland.  A decade later, 1Source has been rebranded, restructured, and relocated in support of expansion and growth. “This office move is the final capstone on a well-defined plan that was initiated one year ago with the acquisition of our subsidiary company [EES], consolidation of our infrastructure, and hiring of new staff designed to help us achieve a strategic advantage in rapidly changing industry. We are both excited and grateful to be in our new corporate home”, said William Teel, 1Source’s CEO and President. 

1Source has a significant presence in Washington, DC with clients such as the Department of Transportation, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, and Federal Communications Commission. Teel states, “We’ve established our new office location as part of our strategic plan to get closer to our customer base.”

1Source Teams with R&K Cyber Solutions to Win Contract with Housing and Urban Development

1Source to provide Security Services in Support of the Department of Housing and Urban Development

1Source is part of a team that has been awarded a two year contract to provide Security Incident Response Management (SIRM) for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  The team will provide an incident handling capability for security incidents affecting the HUD IT infrastructure.  President and CEO of 1Source said, “We are pleased to be a part of this winning effort.  We look forward to supporting this important initiative.”


HUD is the Executive Agency responsible for providing resources for empowering local governments, businesses, and organizations to build stronger communities.   Part of HUD’s support mission is to provide Information Technology (IT) project management planning and acquisition support. The Security Incident Response Management (SIRM) provides an incident handling capability for security incidents affecting the HUD IT infrastructure.

1Source has been awarded a five year contract to provide professional IT System security services and technical support to the PBGC, Financial Operations Department.  William Teel, President and CEO of 1Source, announced “It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that 1 Source announces a contract award with the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC).  The firm fixed price award allows 1 Source to provide IT Security Support Services for the Corporate and Management Information Systems at PBGC ensuring a pervasive cyber security program and capability designed to protect those assets.”

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation protects the retirement incomes of more than 41 million American workers in nearly 24,000 private-sector defined benefit pension plans.  PBGC serves a range of customers including; Congress, Federal Agencies and State Government, General Public, Media, PBGC Employees and Contractors.

1Source chosen to deliver infrastructure and cyber security services in support of SAMSHA mission

1Source was selected by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to provide infrastructure and cyber security services.  The company will deliver IT Security and Privacy Program Support, Program Management, and Technical Operational Support.  “We are pleased to announce the 1Source award from Health and Human Services, Substance and Mental Health Service Administration program.  We are excited to support our new customer and will work endlessly to ensure their mission success,” said William Teel, CEO of 1Source.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, was created to focus attention, programs, and funding for improving the lives of people with or at risk for mental and substance abuse disorders.  SAMHSA is responsible for implementing and administering an information security and privacy program that complies with all federal statutory, regulatory and policy requirements.
