Information Assurance Analyst - Assessment and Authorization (A&A) (19-070)

Location: Navy Yard - Washington, DC

Security Clearance Eligibility: Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Source is looking for an Information Assurance Analyst - Assessment and Authorization (A&A) to work collaboratively with other contractors and federal staff at the Department of Transportation to plan, develop, and execute automated and manual tests to validate security posture and controls. Other duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Ensure DOT systems can obtain and maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO)
  • Perform A&A efforts under the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risk, and protection needs
  • Conduct cybersecurity analysis in preparation for A&A reviewing and validation of all associated cybersecurity documentation and technical controls
  • Develop System Security Plans (SSP) for each system to verify that it address the minimum SSP framework
  • Support the implementation of RMF by developing documentation and updating policies, procedures, and processes as assigned
  • Ensure the system operates in a particular security mode using a prescribed set of safeguards, and placed into the Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) NIST SP 800-137 program

Qualifications:

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred
  • 3+ years of experience using security policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, and best practices from areas such as FISMA, NIST, RMF

Required Skills:

  • Familiar with NIST publications, especially RMF and NIST controls
  • Broad technical experience related to IT operations
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interface with customers and staff
  • Ability to multitask and function in a quick-paced environment

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen or a US Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust clearance
