UX Researcher (19-018)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Source is looking for a UX Researcher to work collaboratively with other contractors and federal staff at the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) to help improve the user experience for distillers, brewers, and others who come to TTB for a series of approvals.

One of the highest priority projects is to refactor our custom applications in order to provide a unified and simplified user experience for TTB. As part of this, we plan to do user research and customer journey mapping to better understand our customers and the key challenges faced in the interactions with TTB. From there, we will be prototyping and iteratively testing new designs, and hope to build a design library that can be used by the organization. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Define and do the user research, conduct iterative UX tests, and help with the design
  • Become the voice of the customer, and help determine what our products and services will look and behave like
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization
  • Work with other analysts, UX analysts, and developers

Qualifications:

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 3+ years of experience doing user research and user-centered design
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is preferred

Required Skills:

  • Ability to think outside the box about problems and propose creative solutions
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain flexible as requirements change, and pitch in with non-UX tasks
  • Work collaboratively and build consensus with teammates and stakeholders
